Novell To Windows
Intercore has been moving users from Novell Groupwise to Microsoft Exchange for years. This is not an easy process. The hard part in moving from GroupWise to Microsoft Exchange is getting all your crucial scheduling data out of GroupWise and into Exchange in one operation. We have done numerous migration for Novell Netware to Microsoft Windows and from Groupwise to Exchange.

There are two ways of moving away from Groupwise to Exchange. One is to extract all the data from Groupwise and import it into Exchange. The other method requires Groupwise and Exchange to co-exist until all mailboxes have been moved over. There is an intial training phase for your users and administration training as well. With that being outline below is the process we take:
      • We will meet with your staff to discuss your Exchange Migration
      • Intercore will outline the project vision of your staff to ensure a common understanding of project goals and scope. A proposal will be delivered for review.
      • Due Dilligence: In order to gain a thorough understanding of your infrastructure, Intercore Exchange professionals will conduct detailed fact-finding. At this time, Intercore consultants will:
          • Explore the current environment and needs in order to determine a framework for deploying a messaging solution
          • Analyze network requirements and identify any necessary changes needed to support Windows and Exchange
          • Define the connections between servers and with external organizations, such as connectivity, vpn, security.
          • Determine the ability of the existing or proposed network infrastructure to effectively support Exchange such as DHCP, DNS, network bandwidth
          • Establish naming conventions for organizational units, domains, systems and users
          • Discover current software in place for spam, virus, and other Exchange email services if existing Exchange server is in place
      • Design the new Exchange Server System with Active Directory. Once Intercore has conducted the proper information gathering, we will begin to design the topology of the Microsoft Exchange and AD environment based on your companies specific requirements. Intercore will:
          • Design the Windows 2000/2003 Site and Server topology, and the Active Directory (AD) structure required to support Exchange, including server information and how to design the AD
          • Complete a security design and specify the Windows security infrastructure required for Exchange OWA and other services
          • Design the Exchange 2000/2003 topology for your organization network infrastructure to effectively support Exchange
          • Document System Administration and Management requirements, as well as the procedures required to operate the Exchange environment
          • Outline the migration and / or implementation steps in detail
